Compliance Statement

What JΔS Engineering Suite implements, what we have validated, and what we have not yet been formally certified for. We do not make compliance claims we cannot back up.

What we implement

The Suite implements the methodologies of the following standards and codes. "Implements" means the algorithms, equations, and worked-example test outputs match the published specification.

ASHRAE 90.1-2022 Appendix G PRM ASHRAE Fundamentals 2021 Ch 18 RTSM ASHRAE 62.1-2022 Vent Rate Procedure ASHRAE 170-2021 Healthcare Vent ACCA Manual J 8th Ed. ACCA Manual D 3rd Ed. What we have validated against published reference data

Validation means we run the published test cases through our engine and the result lands in the published acceptance band.

ASHRAE Standard 140-2017 envelope test (82/85 pass; 3 strict-xfail residuals on heavy-mass shaded edge cases — documented at tests/test_ashrae_140.py) DOE Commercial Reference Buildings (12 prototype/CZ combinations, ±5%) ASHRAE Fundamentals 2021 Ch 6 / 18 / 21 / 22 / 26 worked examples (per-module test suites) ACCA Manual J 8th Ed. example problems (Bob's House, Carol's Apartment) — tests/test_manual_j_examples.py NFPA 13 / 20 / 72 / 99 worked examples IEEE 1584-2018 Annex D — 9 reference examples within ±0% (21/21 pass) CBECC-Com 2025.2.1 round-trip on OfficeSmall + SchoolSmall DOE prototypes

What we have NOT been formally certified for (yet)

These certifications are commercial-credential prerequisites. The engineering work to qualify is done; the formal submission to the certifying body has not yet been filed. We will update this page when each is in hand.

CEC Approved Computer Method (Title 24 nonres / res ACM list) ACCA Software Certification (Manual J / D / S) CHEERS data registry partner agreement CalCERTS data registry partner agreement DOE EnergyPlus IDF cross-validation as a public attestation

We are NOT currently on the CEC's Approved Computer Methods list for Title 24 compliance submissions. Today, Title 24 nonresidential submissions can be filed via JΔS Engineering Suite by exporting our generated .cibd25 file and submitting it through CBECC-Com (the CEC's reference tool, which IS on the list). This is the same workflow EnergyPro 9.x uses.

The AHJ has the final word

Final compliance determination is made by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). JΔS Engineering Suite produces calculation results, generated forms, and reports based on the methodologies cited above. The user is responsible for verifying that the applicable code edition matches the project's permit-of-record date, that the results are reviewed by a licensed engineer, and that any AHJ-specific amendments or interpretations are honored. Our software does not replace professional engineering judgment.

How we compare to other software

For context: the major commercial competitors in this space hold the following formal certifications today:

We share their methodology coverage and validation evidence. We do not yet share their formal-certification status. Those are commercial-credential efforts on our roadmap; engineering completion is not the blocker.

If we got something wrong

If you find a calculation result that doesn't match a published reference, file an issue at our GitHub issues page or email support@jsengineeringsolutions.com. Please include the project file and the published reference; we'll bisect it.
